Alessandro Pomelli, attorney qualified in Italy and in the State of New York, is Full Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Bologna.
His main areas of expertise include corporate law, banking, financial markets and financial intermediaries, as well as law and economics, which he regularly teaches as a visiting professor at prestigious foreign universities.
He has significant experience in corporate acquisitions, litigation and arbitration, as well as in sanctioning proceedings initiated by supervisory authorities. He serves on the boards of directors and boards of statutory auditors of financial intermediaries. He has acted as a corporate law expert for the European Parliament and has been entrusted with research assignments on financial markets by the European Commission.
He has been a speaker at numerous conferences and has authored monographs, treatises, commentaries and articles published in leading national and international journals on corporate governance systems, shareholders’ voting rights, shareholders’ agreements, shareholder financing, takeover bids, related-party transactions, and the management of conflicts of interest.
