BLF
for Art

Located within Palazzo Rodriguez, home to 19th-century frescoes by Felice Giani, Antonio Basoli and Luigi Cini, BLF Studio Legale collaborated with the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna – Master’s Program in Decoration for Architecture to select and award two works by emerging artists.

This project, in line with the Firm’s vocation to “leave a mark”, represents a tangible contribution to the world of art and to the promotion of young talent.

The award-winning artists created two original works, now installed in the Firm’s entrance hall: “Bologna mi viene in mente” by Arianna Bassetto and “Il Respiro della Natura” by Liuyi Cheng.

As part of ART CITY Bologna 2025, during ArteFiera on 8–9 February, the artists personally presented their works to guests, fostering a direct dialogue between art and visitors.

On 14 March 2025, they were officially awarded in the Aula Magna of the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna.
We would like to thank Director Enrico Fornaroli, former Director Cristina Francucci, Professors Maria Rita Bentini and Giovanna Romualdi per aver reso possibile questa esperienza straordinaria e Alessandro Bergonzoni, for making this extraordinary experience possible, and Alessandro Bergonzoni, who concluded the award ceremony with a personal reflection on the relationship between culture and social responsibility.

Bologna mi viene in mente

Arianna Bassetto

Bologna mi viene in mente (Bologna Comes to Mind) is an artistic project born from the desire to engage people in shaping an alternative vision of the concept of monument.

The memory of a city cannot be expressed solely through its institutional history and heritage, but rather through a network of individual stories that intertwine into the collective and emotional narrative of a living, ever-changing city – suspended between idealization and everyday life.

Originally conceived as an online archive built from the anonymous contributions of people sharing their personal memories of Bologna, the ongoing project takes on a material form through ever-changing installations. These installations bring together excerpts from the archive’s texts with graphic elaborations that abstract photographic details and color combinations, evoking the rarefied atmosphere of the city’s collective memories.

The Breath of Nature

Liuyi Cheng
The project focuses on the plant world, creating a gentle and serene spatial atmosphere through the use of color, composition, and light effects. The mural employs warm shades of red, orange, and yellow combined with delicate green tones to evoke the effect of morning light, conveying the vitality and soothing warmth of nature.

The characters, reminiscent of anthropomorphized flowers, represent the joy of life and symbolize the harmony and beauty of the natural world.

These figures give the mural a sense of movement and vitality, with the aim of offering viewers a moment of relaxation and an inner feeling of peace, as if immersed in a calm natural environment.
