Poggipolini S.p.A., a Bologna-based company and leader in the production of critical fastening systems as well as high-precision transmission components and systems, has signed an agreement with Leonardo’s Helicopters Division. The agreement concerns the design, development, and production of flexible couplings for drive shafts and engines, which will be used on Leonardo’s main helicopter platforms (AW139, AW189, AW169, and AW09).

Poggipolini is the first company in the region to collaborate with Leonardo in this field and will introduce a technology that had previously been imported from abroad. The company will also assume responsibility for the design, qualification, and certification of the new components in compliance with EASA Part 21 regulations for civil aviation.

Poggipolini was assisted by BLF Studio Legale with a team led by partner Giovanni Ludergnani, supported by Francesco Ludergnani and Gaetano Ruvolo.
